1) All state and federal regulations always apply. Any violation of these regulations can result in immediate disqualification from current event and/or future events depending on severity of infraction.
2) All decisions of Tournament Director are final. Any discrepancies that involve the Director, warrant an investigation, or vote - a random group of participants involved in that specific tournament will be selected to handle the outcome.
3) Tournament Director reserves the right to refuse any entry. Any person that has ever been banned or disqualified from any tournament, involved in any form of cheating “scandal”, has failed / refused a polygraph, or believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be subject to denied entry.
4) POLYGRAPH – By submitting an entry into any 2G fishing event you agree to submitting to a polygraph. Anyone receiving a check in any event day will be subject to polygraph. Random placement numbers will be drawn at conclusion of weigh in, before checks are issued. Any refusal to take it or failing it will result in immediate disqualification from event and future events. Any “inconclusive” result will be looked at closely and possible re-test made available to clear contestant. After re-testing if still “inconclusive”, contestant will be disqualified. Any consumption of alcohol or drugs prior to testing will result in DQ and forfeiture of any winnings.
5) ENTRIES - An entry or team can consist of 1 or 2 participants. However a "team" signs up for the first fished event of season is how that "team" will remain for said season. No alternates will be allowed. If you sign up solo, you’ll be required to finish the series solo, same for a team of 2. If fishing as a 2-man team, and one cannot make it, other partner may fish solo. Only registered contestants are allowed in boats during tournament hours or practice day hours.
6) PARTICIPATION & ELIGIBILITY - Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to enter. Anyone younger than 18 years of age will need to be partnered with an adult and have a minor’s release form filled out by that adult.
- If you have GUIDED on Toledo Bend in the prior year for any form of compensation you are not eligible to fish (if you guided in 2024 for bass, crappie, catfish, bream, etc. you are not eligible to fish in 2025)
- If you are currently (for 2025) planning or scheduled to fish the MLF Invitationals, Bass Pro Tour, Bassmaster Elite or NPFL levels, you are not eligible to fish.
- CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY – you must fish 5 of the 8 regular season events to qualify for the 2- day championship. The championship will be an entry fee event just like the regular season events, but all sponsorship money for 2025 and all “ODD ENTRIES” (see rule #12) will compound on top of the entry fees for total payouts!!
7) TOURNAMENT WATERS - Tournament waters for North vs South Series or any 2G Fishing produced events on Toledo Bend unless stated elsewhere will read as follows: any water accessible by boat without exiting the boat to push, pull, or drag to obtain access or exit is considered tournament waters. To be clear, as long as you don’t get out of that 1998 Skeeter and you want to slide over a sand bar in and out, go for it... if you have to get out for any reason associated with this situation, you will DQ yourself. Boaters are required to always stay at least 50 yards from another angler’s boat while one or both trolling motors are deployed. The North boundary will be Garrett Park, just north of Hwy 84 in Logansport. The South boundary will be Toledo Bend Dam.
8) OFF LIMITS - Official practice day will be the Friday before each event for registered teams only, from safe daylight until sundown. You must be off water by 9pm on official practice day. You must be registered by midnight on Thursday to practice Friday. The lake will go off-limits on the prior Sunday afternoon at 9pm of each event. For no reason should any contestant be on the lake Monday – Thursday the week of each event, but, if necessary, please contact tournament officials to discuss prior to going. During the off-limits period (4 days) no contestant can solicit or receive any information pertaining to Toledo Bend.
9) TRAILERING - All North vs South Series events including championship will be trailering. You may launch wherever you choose, just no earlier than 5 am leaving said launch. No actual fishing, FFS or “graphing” until official fishing time. Only maps may be used before official fishing time for navigation purposes. Official fishing times will be communicated the day before events.
10) REGISTRATION - You may enter any event online at (www.toledobendbassseries.com) until the "Tuesday" night at midnight before each event.
You can register if desired in person all day each Friday before each tournament at A Real Estate Connection. Events are trailering and we will not be set up onsite until the day of event during tournament hours. However, you may contact Matt Stewart @ 318-401-4520 and set up some way to possibly enter in person or visit “A Real Estate Connection’s” office at 111 N. Milam St. Hemphill, Tx 75948 Mon.-Fri.
11) REFUNDS - No refunds will be allowed. Entries may be forwarded to a future event under special circumstances (may need to be proven) on a case-by-case basis.
12) PAYOUTS - Payouts will be based on number of entries, with 1 place being paid per 6 paid entries. In the North vs South Series, ONLY multiples of “6” entries will be used for that events payout. In other words, if there are 64 entries = 10 places paid with 4 “odd” entries. Those 4 entries will be carried over to the championship and added to overall pot. It’s possible to have up to 5 “odd” entries per event, so 8 events could be 40 possible “odd” entries. 40 x 180 = 7200.00 possible extra dollars toward championship!! Divided backwards thru 8 events, that’s 900.00 per event that would’ve been distributed over several places and won’t be missed but will greatly increase our CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Last place paid will at least be “entry fee” paid back in every event! Payouts up to 25 places only.
13) CULLING -A team may not have more than a 5 fish limit at all times, in the event a cull fish is caught, one member must stop fishing and cull and may not resume fishing until only 5 fish remain in boat. You may not cull a dead fish! If said fish dies in your live well, it must become part of your limit.
14) 14” Rule – all bass must be 14” to be weighed in, no exceptions!
15) PENALTIES – any fish under the 14” minimum length requirement that reaches the bump station will be removed from the overall bag before weighing in and will result in a 1lb penalty after the remaining bag is weighed. “Check-It Stik” is the brand of board we will utilize during our events. Fish must at least “touch” the line! Any DEAD fish will result in a progressive penalty!
• 1st dead = 1/2 lb. penalty
• 2nd dead = 1/2 lb. penalty
• 3rd dead = 1 lb. penalty
• 4th dead = 1 lb. penalty
• 5th dead = 2 lb. penalty
So in short, if you lose all 5 fish in your limit, it will result in a 5lb. penalty total!
Hopefully this will drive people to do everything in their power to keep them alive! Bass must be alive for BIG BASS AWARD.
16) BOAT REQUIREMENTS - All boats must have a functional kill switch and be always utilized while the motor is running. Life Jackets must be always worn while combustion motor is running. All state and federal regulations apply also. Running lights must be in working order.
17) METHOD OF FISHING - All fish must be caught using artificial lures only! No trolling with combustion motor. Only one rod at a time may be utilized. No team member can leave the boat to access fishing water, retrieve or land a fish, or position boat to fish. See “Rule #7” for more information. “Bed Fishing” fish must be caught inside the mouth! No intentional snagging of fish will be allowed.
- No live feed forward facing sonar of any kind (Garmin, Hummingbird, Lowrance, etc.) can be used on tournament day. You do not have to remove it from the vessel (we recommend unplugging unit or box prior ) but it must remain off during tournament hours! You may use it during practice on Friday to find fish/structure. However, Hummingbird 360 is allowed during tournament hours since it is not live feed sonar.”
18) SCALES / WEIGH IN – Scales will open at 1pm the day of event. Tournament day hours will vary based on time change, so “lines out” and “due in line” times will vary also!! These times will be communicated the day before the events via email/text and on website/social media. Any questions, please contact Tournament Director.
19) TIES – in the event of a tie, any money will be split between those places evenly.
20) PROTESTS – Any protest must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes of the scales closing to the Tournament Director. Any name of person or witness involved needs to be included in the original written protest.
21) 2G Fishing reserves the right to place an official observer, video or audio equipment into a competitor’s boat or have an observer boat in use during tournament hours.
22) All bass weighed in will become property of 2G Fishing. Fish will be placed into release boat/trailer and will be released back into lake. Any dead fish will be kept for donation.
23) NO INFO RULE – during official practice or tournament hours, non-paid competitors may not be in the boat, you may not receive any information via phone call, texts, or handheld radios. During 4 day off- limit period, you may not receive any information regarding Toledo Bend! Also, at no times will “hole sitting” or outside help (locating fish and marking them) for a team be tolerated and will be seen and dealt with as cheating!
24) EMERGENCY – in the event of an emergency, please call 911 first then contact the Tournament Director! If your boat breaks down, you can be pulled in by anyone on the lake that’s willing to help provided you don’t leave your boat until it reaches the bank, or ride in with another PAID COMPETITOR ONLY with your fish to the weigh in site!
25) ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND MIND-ALTERING DRUGS – No alcoholic beverages or mind-altering drugs are to be consumed by any team member during tournament hours or until team required to polygraph has been selected; nor are alcoholic beverages or mind-altering drugs allowed in a team’s boat during official tournament hours. Violation of any of the above will result in disqualification of said team.
26) SPORTSMANSHIP AND CONDUCT - All Contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation. Examples of conduct not complying with those standards that could result in a disqualification include, but are not limited to the following:
- Consumption and/or possession of alcoholic beverages or any mind-altering substance during tournament hours extending through the weigh-in process
- Any previous conviction, charge, arrest, or investigation for a felony, a crime involving moral turpitude, or a crime related to, arising out of, or involving any fishing tournament or event, except with full, prior written disclosure to the Tournament Director under oath and by affidavit of all facts and circumstances surrounding such conviction, charge, arrest, or investigation at least ten (10) days before the Tournament being entered, and thereafter subject to the Tournament Director’s sole and absolute discretion that such conviction, charge, arrest, or investigation does not result in the Contestant’s honesty, integrity, character or qualifications to enter the event being unreasonably questionable.
- Actions or words which reflect unfavorably upon efforts to promote safety, sportsmanship, and fair competition during tournament hours
- Any form of violent or aggressive behavior or language towards another angler or anyone during tournament hours
- Disqualification from any tournament that resulted from unexplained rule violations that result in a Contestant’s honesty, integrity, character, and qualifications for entry into a tournament being questionable is the Tournament Director’s sole and absolute discretion. Upon review of the circumstances by the Tournament Director, the Tournament Director shall have the right to refuse any entry, or to deny a confirmed entry, by returning the entry fee of a previously accepted entry, or disqualifying a Team.
